At 400 signatures it’s printed, with the count by town, and handed to County Judge Troy Tucker and the Clark County Quorum Court (11 justices of the peace) at a public meeting.
Clark County voters approved a half-cent sales tax in 2007, 2014 and 2021. All of it goes to the Economic Development Corporation of Clark County (EDCCC) for economic development — $25.4 million from 2008 through 2023, according to the county’s state audits. No public list shows who received that money or what they promised in return. The county judge and quorum court appoint EDCCC’s board and hear its reports. We ask them to post every award and agreement paid from the half-cent, so residents can see what it bought.

This is a petition to your elected officials — like the clipboard at the courthouse door. It does not put anything on the ballot; in Arkansas and most states that takes ink signatures from registered voters. Signatures are counted, not verified — one per browser; the delivered copy removes duplicates. Like everything here, petitions can’t campaign for candidates or ballot measures, or name county staff.
